BACKGROUND: This week’s featured stick is called the Intemperance, which comes in two varieties, a Brazilian Arapiraca-wrapped BA XXI and the Ecuadorian Connecticut-wrapped EC XVIII. Today’s featured cigar, the EC XVIII, alludes to a totally different time in the history of the temperance movement. In 1919, the movement finally achieved its goal when the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States established a national prohibition on the consumption of ‘intoxicating liquors’.
This week’s featured stick is the 4.5-inch by 52 ring gauge Intemperance EC XVIII Virtue.
FEATURED LIBATION: Doc’s Select Blend coffee
Today’s libation is a coffee blend that is a result of my taking leftover green beans from several batches of single-origin coffees and blending them together and roasting them.

DOC’S CIGAR POSTSCRIPT: J. Grotto Series Reserve Gran Corona
This postscript review is on the J Grotto Series Reserve Gran Corona. I first reviewed this cigar in Episode 291 of the Stogie Fresh 5 podcast back on Sunday, October 16, 2011. These sticks have been resting in my Stogie Fresh humidor for 1 year, 5.5 months and I pulled out a couple of samples this past week to see how they are faring with another year and a half of age.
