BACKGROUND: Flathead features a jet-black Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder and a filler blend that is heavy on Nicaraguan leaf.
In keeping with CAO’s unconventional approach to packaging, Flathead gives a nod to the muscle car engine, with a lid that’s easily removed and used as wall art. There’s also a collectible, pin-up girl flysheet that’s enclosed in the box.
With that in mind, this week’s featured Flathead is the 5.5” x 54 ring gauge Camshaft.
FEATURED LIBATION: Boatswain Double IPA
This beer is brewed exclusively for Trader Joe’s. It weighs in at 8.4% ABV and 75 IBU’s. The label says, and I quote, “Bosun beers are unique brews made in small batches. Our Double IPA has a pleasant bitterness from the extra hops. This is one big, bold beer.”
