BACKGROUND: Matt Booth of Room101 Cigars formally revealed the details of a new line of cigars called Master Collection One, back in August 2013, just prior to the annual industry Convention and Trade Show. The Master Collection One was produced in 5 different sizes. This week’s featured cigar will be the 7-inch by 38 ring gauge Mutante Lancero.

Episode 386 Camacho Blackout Robusto

BACKGROUND: Camacho has released a limited edition for 2013 called: Blackout. The new cigar utilizes tobaccos from 4-different years. The wrapper was grown in 2006, the binder in 2009, and the fillers from 2003, 2008, and 2009. A total of 5,000 boxes, or 1,000 boxes per size were produced. At 20 cigars per box, that makes a total production run of 100,000 cigars. This week’s featured cigar is the 5-inch by 50 ring gauge Blackout Robusto.

FEATURED LIBATION: Sidecar Cocktail
Ingredients: This cocktail is made with 2 parts Cognac or a good Brandy, 1 part Triple Sec and 1/2 part Lemon Juice.

Directions: Mix ingredients into a pitcher and pour as much as needed into a shaker cup with ice. Shake and serve in a tumbler.

Episode 385 Liga Privada Unico Serie UF-13

BACKGROUND: In March of 2013, the fifth Único Serie cigar was released, which is our featured cigar of the week. It joins the Dirty Rat, L-40, Feral Flying Pig, Papas Fritas and a few other not-for-retail Único’s.

The cigar features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with a Dark Medium designation for the color and priming. The binder is a Brazilian Mata Fina and the filler consists of select Honduran and Nicaraguan Cuban-seed tobacco.

The cigar comes in cabinets of 12 and retails for a suggested $13.95 per stick. It’s a parejo shape (straight-sided with rounded head) with a unique fan-shaped cap (though pre-release versions used a standard cap).

This cigarcast features the 5.5-inch by 52 ring gauge UF-13 Dark Robusto.

FEATURED LIBATION: Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout
The Old Brewery at Tadcaster was founded in 1758 and is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. First introduced to the U.S. market in 1978, Samuel Smith beers quickly became the benchmark ales for the emerging craft beer movement. To this day, they remain among the most awarded. All Samuel Smith beers are vegan products registered with The Vegan Society.

The Chocolate Stout is brewed with gently roasted organic chocolate malt and organic cocoa.

The company says to serve the Chocolate Stout at about 51°F (11°C).
