FEATURED LIBATION: Trader Joe’s 8 year Single Malt Irish Whiskey
This Whiskey is, as the name implies, a minimum of 8-year aged whiskey in the bottle, as opposed to a non-age-statement, which is likely to be 4-years and change, and is supposedly triple distilled (as opposed to double distilled) and matured “in single-use, bourbon oak casks.” It weighs in at 40% ABV.

Warped-La-Colmena-600

Each vitola is rolled by a single person, who is a category 9 roller hailing from Cuba. These cigars are unique in that they’re done in the style of custom-rolled cigars from Cuba, featuring entubado bunching, triple cap are finished with fantail caps and covered foot.

La-Colmena-box

Because of this limited production, the cigars are typically in short supply, with production limited to a mere 100 cigars per day.

The La Colmena features an Ecuadorian Desflorado wrapper, an Ecuadorian binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

This week’s featured stogie is the 6-inch by 36 ring gauge La Colmena Amado No 36, Petit Lancero!

FEATURED LIBATION: Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is the flagship beer of the “world’s oldest brewery.” Since 1040, beer has been brewed on the Weihenstephan Hill in Freising, Germany. Today, the Weihenstephan Monastery Brewery—after nearly a thousand years—still stands upon that same hill.

This Bavarian style ale is only 14 IBUs and weighs in at an easy 5.4%ABV. Because of this, the beer is crisp and light and you can drink it at most any time of day or night.
