BACKGROUND: Giacomo’s Cigar Company was started in June, 2010 by physician and pediatric ophthalmologist Dr. Jack Guggino.
The cigars are blended with tobaccos from five different countries and come with a natural or Maduro wrapper. And, all the tobaccos in Giacomo’s cigar are aged at least three years and, in fact, the blending process for their original releases took over 2 1/2 years.
The Giacomo’s Maduro possesses an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper, a USA Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a filler blend from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua.
The Giacomo series includes a Churchill, Torpedo, Robusto, Lancero and a box pressed Perfecto. This week’s featured stogie is the 5.5-inch by 50 ring gauge Robusto.
FEATURED LIBATION: Bowmore 12-Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This week’s Bowmore Single Malt is 12 Years Old and weighs in at 40% ABV. I’ll be drinking it straight and will be pouring it into one of my scotch tasting glasses.
