BACKGROUND: The Nat Sherman Timeless Collection Dominican blend includes tobaccos from three countries. It starts with Dominican and Honduran filler tobaccos that are encased in a Dominican binder and finished with a Honduran wrapper.
The vitola that I’m featuring today is called the Celebraciones. These are rare and not commercially available. These cigars are typically only found at special Nat Sherman events. As it turns out, Doc’s 6th annual Central Coast Herf was one such special event.
FEATURED LIBATION: Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, 15-year old
Today’s featured whiskey is an Irish Whiskey. The first official reference to the brand name ‘Redbreast’ appears in August 1912. In 2005, the Redbreast 15 was released. The whiskey was first released as a limited edition and was bottled at 46% abv (alcohol by volume) and was non-chill filtered. The Redbreast 15 is now a regular production whiskey. After distillation, Redbreast 15 is matured for no less than 15 years in a combination of Spanish Oloroso Sherry barrels and American Oak bourbon barrels.
