Episode 414 Partagás 1845 Extra Fuerte Robusto Gordo

Play

BACKGROUND: The Partagas 1845 Extra Fuerte was released in 2014 as an exclusive cigar to Brick and Mortar shops. It uses a unique barrel aging process in aging the Nicaraguan filler.

Partagas 1845

The Extra Fuerte combines the spice of the Nicaraguan filler leaf with an Ecuadoran Habano ligero wrapper. The blend is rounded out with the sweetness and strength of a Habano binder leaf grown in Connecticut. All of the tobaccos used in Partagas 1845 undergo lengthy aging and fermentation. The cigar was blended to be in the medium range of strength and body while also being rich and complex in flavor.

Prices range between $7.49–$8.49, depending on the size of the cigar.

This week’s featured stogie is the 5.5-inch by 52 ring gauge Extra Fuerte Robusto Gordo.

FEATURED LIBATION: Glenlivet 21 Year Old Archive Single Malt Scotch
This scotch is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled at 43% ABV. It was Gold Medal Winner at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 International Wine & Spirit Competition and a GOLD OUTSTANDING MEDAL at the 2012 competition.

A sizable inventory of whisky of this age is extremely rare and only the best are selected for this expression. The complex combination of cask types imparts richness, intensity and a long finish to the whisky.

John Hansell, of Malt Advocate Magazine had this to say about the Glenlivet 21 year Archive: “The ‘Sean Connery’ of whiskies – mature, sexy, rich, and debonair. Savour it after a long and successful day. Just don’t rush the experience.”
